The document review process is critical during litigation, regulatory investigations, and due diligence. Law firms and corporate legal departments are often required to manage high volumes of documents quickly and accurately. Managed document review offers an efficient and cost-effective solution to optimize legal support by providing benefits such as:
1. Enhanced Efficiency and Speed
One of the primary benefits of using managed document review services is the significant boost in efficiency and speed. Managed review teams can leverage specialized attorney teams who are experts at document review and are available quickly to begin the review. They can also utilize effective project management techniques, including setting milestones and regular progress checks, to maintain productivity and adhere to deadlines.
2. Cost-Effective Solutions
Managed review services offer a cost-effective solution for handling large-scale document reviews. Utilizing teams of experienced reviewers who are adept at handling complex document sets minimizes the time spent on the review and the overall cost.
Using a managed review service also means that law firms and corporations do not have to invest in the infrastructure, software, and administrative support required for large-scale document reviews. Managed review providers already have these resources in place, and their costs are spread across multiple clients, resulting in lower overhead expenses for all clients.
3. Access to Specialized Expertise
Managed document review providers may employ professionals with specific expertise in various legal domains. These subject-matter experts are well-versed in the nuances of terminology and can identify subtle but crucial details that might be missed by less experienced reviewers.
4. Improved Focus for Core Legal Tasks
By using managed review services, legal teams can allocate more time and resources to strategic legal tasks, such as case strategy, client counseling, and court appearances. This shift allows lawyers to concentrate on their core competencies, enhancing the overall quality of legal services provided.
5. Scalability and Flexibility
Managed review services offer scalability and flexibility in short time frames. Whether a project requires a sudden increase in attorneys or a quick turnaround time, managed review teams can expand as needed and adapt to meet these demands.
By combining all of these benefits with their specialized knowledge and experience, managed review teams can manage and review large quantities of documents quickly and efficiently, ensuring that key information is identified and handled appropriately. For law firms and corporate legal departments aiming to improve their operations and outcomes, managed document review is an invaluable resource.
